Weight Management Care that Fits

As a leader in obesity medicine, I have been passionate about educating clinicians on the best practices of providing care to their patients who are living with obesity.

Toward that end, I’m excited to share that I have a new book for healthcare professionals coming soon, titled Patient-Centered Weight Management: The Six Factor Professional Program and Toolkit.

This new book offers clinicians with varied backgrounds a patient-centered program that fits their practice and is suited for both in-person or telehealth visits.

I also wrote my book, Six Factors to Fit: Weight Loss that Works for You!, to give individuals a personalized weight management program that helps tweak their lifestyle to match their needs and fit their daily routine.

While patients seek personalized care, clinicians want an effective and efficient way to deliver treatment. I’m hoping these resources meet both of these goals.

Here are some highlights:

1-A Resource for Patients, A Toolkit for Clinicians

Patients need to be empowered with information to help them manage weight better and improve health.

My complementary books are intended to offer patients a credible resource for managing weight in a healthy way and clinicians a toolkit of ready-to-use downloadable handouts to help patients modify diet, physical activity, health behaviors and mindset.

2-Shifting Obesity Care Goals

The goal of obesity care is shifting from weight loss as the primary goal to improved health and weight management outcomes.

This is the focus of my new book, Patient Centered Weight Management.

To get a sneak peak into Patient-Centered Weight Management, see the Table of Contents and read the Introduction here.

3-The Foundational Role of Lifestyle Modification Counseling

In light of the exciting new highly effective medication treatments for overweight and obesity, clinicians are confused about the role and necessity of providing concurrent lifestyle modification counseling.

Patients also need guidance on what they should be doing to achieve long-term health results whether or not they are taking the medication.

In my new book, Patient-Centered Weight Management, I help clinicians see the value of providing lifestyle modification counseling when it’s personalized to each patient’s needs and made easier with downloadable handouts.
